1. How does Enerwise retrieve energy consumption data?
Enerwise retrieves interval data through a variety of sources, including FTP file transfer from host utilities or customers, integration to the utility-grade meter using MV-90 protocol, or via the addition of a shadow metering or recorder device. The specific source utilized will depend on the type of meter currently installed at the location, the accessibility to the host utility meter and communication interfaces. Where necessary, Enerwise is capable of providing the engineering expertise to design, commission, and install a metering system to enable energy information retrieval.
2. How do Enerwise customers access their energy information?
Customers access Enerwise products through a secure, password protected, web site over the Internet. The Enerwise products contain additional levels of security to ensure that users only see the energy data for which their corporation has granted them privileges.
3. What software and hardware do I need to operate Enerwise products?
It is not necessary to purchase software to operate standard Enerwise products. Only an Internet connection and a standard web browser is needed. Enerwise is an application service provider and we maintain all the hardware and software at our facilities. As a result, Enerwise takes on the burden of providing server and database operation, maintenance, and backup infrastructure. Enerwise maintains two geographically disperse computing centers to ensure system availability.
4. How are Enerwise products priced?
The fees are based on the customer's requirements but they usually entail a one-time set-up fee with monthly subscription fees based on frequency of data collection from the field. Optional services, such as professional metering system design and integration, are available on a per project basis.
5. What frequency of data collection does Enerwise provide?
Enerwise provides a wide range of data updates to its customers. The frequency is dependant on the customer's needs. Available data update frequencies range from near-real time to monthly updates. The most common customer choice for data collection frequency is 15-minutes or daily updates.
6. Will Enerwise load historical utility data?
Yes, Enerwise provides an option for up to 2 years of historical data to be loaded into the system such that customers can utilize it on day one. Enerwise provides a standard format for data importation. Additional data amounts or formats are available.
7. How long does Enerwise keep the data available for access?
As a standard, Enerwise keeps utility data available for 2 years. Additional data amounts are available.
8. How long have Enerwise products been in the marketplace?

9. Will Enerwise products allow multiple users accessing energy data at the same time? Yes, Enerwise is built on a robust framework that allows multiple users to access data at the same time.
10. What if I have a problem with either the data or communications?
Enerwise maintains a 24 x 7 helpdesk accessible via a 1-800 number that is always available to assist customers. Additionally, the Enerwise Information Control and Command center works to resolve data collection issues before customers are ever aware there was an issue.
11. How can an Enerwise offering save me money? How much?
The energy information captured, analyzed, and presented can be used to identify consumption spikes, anomalies, or disruptions that represent energy-efficiency opportunities. Additionally, where energy procurement markets are open to competitive choice or curtailment opportunities, the ability to quickly provide and affect specific load usage patterns allows customers to take advantage of various pricing options.
12. Can the Enerwise system quickly identify areas of immediate concern?
Yes, the Exception Log feature provides the ability to identify consumption activity that is outside normal parameters and the financial impact of such activity.
